Known as the “NEBO “ Flash Carson once scored 47 points in a high school game in KY. But what Carson will never be forgotten for is his creation of the AGOGA Amateur Basketball Tournament held for decades at the Armory on the Campus of the University of Evansville.  In a Semi-Pro atmosphere you had 2 to 3 decades of former stars from the Tri-State along with graduating Sr’s from High School and area Colleges playing a Double Elimination Tournament over a 6 week period. Carson also had a women’s division of usually 16 to 20 teams. But it was the men’s division that would always draw 48 to 64 teams that made it an annual Tri-State Hoops Bazar.  Carson had a media guide over 200 pages long with sponsors from all over the Tri-state and records from the AGOGA tournament.  Over 25 guys who played in the NBA and 100’s of College Stars took the floor in the 47 year old event.
