EVANSVILLE, IN – The Greater Evansville Ball Halls of Fame received a prestigious Sportsmanship Award at the Leadership Evansville 22nd Annual Celebration of Leadership on March 9th.

Celebration of Leadership is an annual event where Leadership Evansville recognizes and honor individuals, projects, and businesses who have made significant, collaborative contributions to the community.

The Greater Evansville Ball Halls of Fame promotes the region’s athletes and their successes. Their mission is to honor local sports heroes who have made an impact in our community including players, coaches, and ambassadors of the games of baseball, football, basketball, and golf.

“The Greater Evansville Ball Halls of Fame has continued to evolve since its conception, welcoming new sports and their athletes into the fold of the community’s sports world,” says Chris Cooke who nominated the organization for the award.

An additional goal of the Greater Evansville Ball Halls of Fame is to become a community partner in the Greater Evansville Area by supporting area sports programs at the youth through college levels in order to have a lasting positive effect on the community just as their inductees have.

The Greater Evansville Ball Halls of Fame geographically covers the following counties:

Indiana: Davis, DuBois, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, Warrick

Illinois: Gallatin, Edwards, Wabash, White, Saline, Richland, Wayne

Kentucky:  Davies, Hancock,  Henderson, Ohio, Union, Webster.
